The ICC has announced the three nominees of Player of the Month for June. T20 World Cup Champions Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have joined Afghanistan’s emerging star and ICC T20 World Cup most Runs scorer Rahmanullah Gurbaz.Â
On Thursday, ICC revealed the top three players running for the ICC Player of the Month awards to praise the top performer for the June month. The shortlist has two T20 World Cup winners Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, with a T20 World Cup top performer Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Looking at the stats, all three have done a great job with the utmost athletic qualities. First Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain who brings the ICC World Cup home after 13 years. Rohit Sharma is also the second-highest scorer in the ICC T20 World Cup bagging 257 runs with an average of 36.71 and an amazing strike rate of 156.7.
Then we have Jasprit Bumrah who clinched the ICC Player of the Tournament with his brilliant fast bowling. It’s the third time when Bumrah has his ICC nominations for the best Player of the Month. In T20 World Cup 2024 tournament Bumra scalped 15 wickets with an 8.26 and an exceptional economy rate of 4.17 in 8 matches.
Last but not least, Afghanistan’s top-notch batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz, top scorer of the ICC tournament. Gurbaz amassed 281 runs with a decent strike rate of 124.33 and an average of 35.12 and became the first Afghan player who has topped the ICC ranking.
