Kabaddi is a gameplay that involves physical contact between two teams. Kabaddi’s main objective is that a single player of a team has to run towards the court of the opponent team and touch as many defenders of the opposing team and return to their own court without getting caught. 10 Golden Rules of Kabaddi

1. Two teams having 7 players
The basic rule of kabaddi is that every kabaddi team should have 7 players each. A kabbadi match is played between 2 teams which means that a minimum of 14 players should be there during the game.
2. Every Kabaddi match should have two halves
In a kabaddi, it is necessary to divide the match into two halves wherein every half should last for 20 minutes. Also between the two halves a break of 5 minutes is necessary for both teams. The winner of the match is declared based on the total points secured by the teams during both halves of gameplay.
3. Only one raider allowed inside the court
In a kabaddi game, only one raider is allowed in the court of the opponent team during a single round. If more the one raider tries entering the opponent’s court then the referee gives a go-back order and a point is allotted to the opponent team
4. The opponent team is not allowed to touch Raider’s court
During a kabaddi match, the opponent team’s players are not allowed to touch the raider’s court during the raid or before the completion of the raid. If the opponent team touches the raider’s court before raid completion then they are declared out and the opponent team gets allotted the points scored by the defenders.
5. Crossing the centre-line player is voted out
In the Kabaddi game, a player is not allowed to cross the centre line that divides two halves of the field. If a player crosses the center line during the gameplay then they are voted out.
6. Leaving the field makes player out of the game
During a kabaddi game, a player is not allowed to leave the field for any reason during gameplay. If a player leaves the field then they are declared as out.
7. Raider has to continuously chant kabaddi
During the game, a raider while invading the opponent’s court has to continuously chant kabaddi. If a player fails to chant kabaddi then the raider is sent back and the point is rewarded to the opponent team. Additionally, the team also gets rewarded with a chance to raid.
8. Raider cannot be instructed by their teammates
In the game, it is not allowed for a raider to be instructed by other teammates. If a raider gets instructed by anyone from his side then the referee awards the point to the opponent team.
9. Raiders cannot be chased by opponents if they escape from the court safely
During a raid in kabaddi if a raider escapes safely from the opponent court then the opponent team cannot chase them. The raider cannot be pursued but if the raider touches any member of the opponent team and reaches back to the court then they can be chased.
10. The player is declared out if they are caught during a raid
In the gameplay, if the opposition team catches the raider before they reach the court then they are declared out. The raider in this case has to leave the field and can only return if their team scores a point when they are out.
