Match No. 68 of the TATA IPL 2024 saw a great battle between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The toss went in CSK’s favour, and they opted to bowl first. But RCB kept up the scoring rate, with both openers scoring pretty well.
Virat Kohli was the first man to go after scoring a 29-ball 47. Faf du Plessis hit out after scoring a 39-ball 54. After that Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green held the innings together with a 71-run stand for the third wicket. Patidar scored 41 off 23 balls.
In the end, Dinesh Karthik (14 off 6) and Glenn Maxwell (16 off 5) provided RCB with a great finish, and they went on to make 218/5 in the 20 overs. But CSK had a poor start. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad got out for a golden duck, and Daryl Mitchell also got out cheaply.
Ajinkya Rahane (33 off 22) and Rachin Ravindra added 66 runs for the third wicket, but CSK were at 129/6 after 15 overs. In the end, MS Dhoni (25 off 13) and Ravindra Jadeja (42 off 22) added 61 runs for the seventh wicket, but CSK only managed 191/7 and RCB registered a 27-run win to book a playoff spot. Meanwhile, CSK have been knocked out.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings Fantasy Player of the Match
There was a close contest between Faf du Plessis and Rachin Ravindra as both batters scored a half-century each. Ravindra collected 88 fantasy points and Su Plessis surpassed him with 93 points to win the Fantasy Player of the Match award. Ravindra scored more runs but because Du Plessis took two catches he earned extra points.

A total of 24 sixes were hit in the game. RCB hit 16 of those while CSK hit 8. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar hit four sixes each in their innings but because Virat scored more runs, he won the Angel One Super 6s of the Match award. Virat scored 47 runs and Patidar scored 41.

Until, Rachin Ravindra was batting, CSK has a brilliant chance for a win. The Southpaw scored 61 runs off 37 balls with five fours and three sixes. He hit the most fours in the match and won the On-the-Go 4s of the Match award.

It was a tough decision to make but in the end, it was Faf du Plessis who won the Man of the Match award for his superb batting, fielding and captaincy. He scored a 35-ball fifty and made 54 off 39 balls, at a strike rate of 138.46 and took two important catches.

It was an important game for both teams. RCB batted well with good contributions from the batters and scored 218/4 in the first innings.
