After a winning start against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, Gujarat Titans (GT) will now travel to Chennai to face the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at their own den at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium or Chepauk Stadium. Both teams will be coming after winning thier first match and will continue their winning momentum.
Both GT and CSK last met during the IPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad where CSK defeated GT by 5 wickets to win their fifth IPL title. Now, GT will be looking to take the revenge of the previous year’s final loss by defeating CSK at their home ground, for which, they will be hoping for a contribution from every player.
One of the player to look out for GT is Kane Williamson. The New Zealand batter was picked by GT at a price of ₹2 Crore in IPL 2023 auction. However, in the very first match of the season against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 31st March, 2023, Williamson sustained a knee injury and was ruled out of the whole season. Williamson also missed the first game against MI in Ahmedabad and is likely to feature in GT’s playing XI against CSK at Chepauk.
