New Zealand have been one of the most consistent teams in major international tournaments throughout the years. The BlackCaps made it into the final of the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cup consecutively, final of the 2021 T20 World Cup, and even won the World Test Championship in 2021. However, despite the tremendous performance in previous two editions, New Zealand are yet to get their hands on the World Cup trophy. They almost won the cup in 2019, but the rules weren’t in favor of Kane Williamson’s side as despite leveling the scores with England, even in the Super over, they fell short in boundary count and England were declared as champions.

And the best news for their fans is that their limited overs skipper Kane Williamson is back in the squad for the upcoming tournament. Williamson was away from the cricketing action after sustaining hamstring injury while feilding for Gujarat Titans during the opening match of IPL 2023 against Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad. Now the 33-year-old is all fit to play and all set to lead the national side in the World Cup.
