Afghanistan are one of the most improved and promising teams in international cricket in the last few years. Now, they will be appearing in their third consecutive ODI World Cup after making a debut in the tournament in 2015. However, it hasn’t been a memorable outing for Afghanistan in the previous two outings, where they could win only one game in 2015 World Cup and didn’t got a single win out of nine league matches in the 2019 World Cup. They also had a disappointing outing in the recently ended Asia Cup where they couldn’t win a single game and failed to make it into the Super 4.
In the previous edition (2019), Afghanistan had to play ODI World Cup qualifiers in 2018 to make it into the list of 10 participating teams of the World Cup. However, this time, Afghanistan have directly qualified for the upcoming tournament in India and the fans would be having hopes for them to perform better this time and have a memorable World Cup.
Afghanistan will kickstart their World Cup campaign against Bangladesh on 7th October at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi. Let’s have a look at the full schedule of the Afghanistan Cricket team for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.
