Star Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav was seen sharing a wholesome moment with his wife post-match. After scoring a match winning century against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Surya was seen video calling his wife Devisha Shetty, who was in the stands at Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
The official handle of Mumbai Indians captured this wholesome moment and shared it across social media, which went viral instantly. On the call, they were seen talking about their friend Adhatrao. Surya said whenever Adhatrao is present he always scores a century. Devisha also mentioned how Adhatrao caught one of the shots Surya hit for six. The couple exchanged smiles over the call as both looked very happy.
Yesterday’s century made Surya only the second batsman to score multiple centuries for Mumbai Indians after Rohit Sharma. He achieved another feat and joined the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to score 6 tons in T20 format by an Indian.
The 33-year-old batter achieved this milestone by scoring his ton in just 51 balls when he hit Natrajan for six in the 18th over. As Mumbai Indians chased down the target of 174 in just 17.2 overs, thanks to Surya and Tilak Verma’s 143 runs unbeaten partnership.
“I have done this after a long time,” said Surya at the post-match presentation while talking about his century. He added, “I fielded for 20 overs and batted for 18 overs, only tired.”
Mumbai Indians Skipper Hardik was ecstatic after this victory “It’s unbelievable! The best part of SKY is that he puts the bowlers under pressure. It’s sheer confidence…He can change a game in a different way. Lucky to have him on our side,”
This victory after four consecutive losses means Mumbai Indians are still mathematically in the race for playoffs. However, their fate remains in the hands of others.
