Rajasthan Royals’ Proteas pacer Nandre Burger expressed his desire to engage in a sledging battle with Virat Kohli ahead of their Eliminator match.
Ahead of the big Eliminator clash between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the South African international admitted that he would enjoy a sledging contest with RCB’s star batter.
In a QnA video shared by Royals’ official handle, Burger was asked about one batter he would enjoy sledging, by his countrymen Donovan Ferreira. To which he replied,
“I don’t think there is any specific batsman I enjoy sledging, But I think getting into a little sledging match with him(Virat) would be fun”.
Two of them had met before during South Africa’s tour to India earlier this year. The duo had a heated exchange of staredowns as Burger troubled Kohli with short balls.

Both of them have the chance to meet again at the Eliminator match on Wednesday, May 22. Even though Burger hasn’t featured for the Royals regularly this campaign, he might get into the squad if the Rajasthan decides to attack the RCB batters with two left-arm pacers. Burger could open the bowling alongside Boult in the powerplay with the new ball.
Burger racked up 7 wickets in 6 games with an average of 20.71. Whilst Virat Kohli on the other hand is in red hot form with 708 runs in 14 games and leading the race for the orange cap.
