Krishnapp Gowtham is a bowling all-rounder from Bangalore, Karnataka who plays for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is known for power-hitting in death overs and has been retained by LSG for the upcoming season in 2024.
Krishnappa Gowtham has been a part of five franchises in the IPL and has also represented India in an ODI. the 35-year-old can play as an off-spin bowler who can provide wickets at crucial moments and a lower-order batter who can produce some big hits in death overs. Krishnappa Gowtham got his first IPL buy when Mumbai Indians (MI) acquired his services for ₹2 Crore ahead of IPl 2017. However, he didn’t get to play a match and was released by MI next year. In 2018, he Gowtham was sold to Rajasthan Royals for INR 6.20 crore. He finally made his IPL debut in 2018 and was retained by RR ahead of IPL 2019 at the same price. In IPL 2020, RR traded him to Punjab Kings (PBKS) for ₹6.20 crore. Gowtham joined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2021 after the franchise acquired his services for ₹9.25 crore in the auction. CSK released him the very next year and he was picked by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 90 Lakhs ahead of IPL 2022.
