Top 10 Most Expensive PKL Player In tournament History

Pro Kabaddi League expensive players: Ahead of the PKL 11 season, the auction witnessed some record-breaking bids with a total of eight players crossing the Rs 1 crore mark for the first time in the tournament’s history.

With Rs 2.15 crore, Sachin Tanwar became the most expensive player bought by the Tamil Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League Auction 2024 held in Mumbai. Iran’s Mohammadreza Chiyaneh became the most expensive overseas player who joined  Haryana Steelers for Rs 2.07 crore.     

To secure the most valuable player all 12 PKL franchises went into a bidding war and the auction saw some of the highest-paid bids with two players reaching Rs. 2 crore during the PKL 11 Auction. But who is the most expensive Pro Kabaddi League player in the history of tournaments?

The answer is star allrounder Pawan Sherawat who earned the most expensive player title not only once but twice in the league’s history. Let’s find out what is the PKL price of the most expensive player in history and who are the top 10 PKL players with the most auction prices so far.   

Top 10 Most Expensive Player In PKL (Pro Kabaddi League)

Here are the top ten most expensive players for the PKL throughout the tournament history-

Pawan Sehrawat – Rs 2.605 Crore

Pawan Sherawat is the most expensive PKL player in the history of the tournament for the whopping amount of Rs 2.60 crore. He became the very first player to cross the Rs 2 crore mark twice. For the first time, Pawan Sherawat was bought by the Tamil Thalivas for Rs 2.26 crore and became the most expensive player of PKL in season 9. In the very next season, Pawan broke his own record for the Most Expensive player in the PKL tournament history in season 10. For that season, he joined Telugu Titans for Rs 2.605 crore.   

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh – Rs 2.35 crore

The Iranian Kabaddi player Mohammadreza Chiyaneh is the only player after Pawan Sherawat who crossed the Rs 2 crore mark twice in the PKL history. The first time, Puneri Paltan bagged Mohammadreza Chiyaneh and acquired his services for Rs 2.35 crore in Pro Kabaddi season 10. Ahead of PKL 11 season 2024, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh touched Rs 2 crore club twice in the PKL history. This time Haryana Steelers bagged him for Rs 2.07 crore for the upcoming season. He is the second most expensive player for the PKL 11 season and the most expensive overseas player in the Pro Kabaddi League history. 

Sachin Tanwar – Rs 2.15 crore

Indian Kabaddi player Sachin Tanwar is the most expensive player of the PKL 2024 season. The former Patna Pirates player Sachin joined Tamil Thalavias for the massive amount of Rs 2.15 core. 

Maninder Singh – Rs 2.12 crore

Next, we have Maninder Singh who returned to the Bengal Warriors for the whopping amount of Rs 2.12 crore in the PKL season 10 and became one of the most expensive players for the season.  In 2024, PKL 11, Warriors once again used their FBM (Final Bid Match) card and won back their star player for Rs 1.15 crore. 

Guman Singh – Rs 1.97 crore

For the PKL 2024 season, Guman Singh is one of the most expensive players from the Rs 1 crore club. In the PKL 2024 auction, Gujarat giants bid the highest amount for the raider Guman singh and bought him for Rs 1.97 crore.  

Vikash Kandola – Rs 1.70 crore

Another most expensive player in PKL history is Vikash Kandola with Rs 1.70 crore who was bought by the Bengaluru Bulls in the PKL 9 season. Before moving to Bengaluru, Vikash helped the Haryana Steelers to reach the playoffs during his four-year stint with the franchise.   

Pardeep Narwal – Rs 1.65 crore

Pradeep Narwal is the most expensive player for the PKL season whose services were acquired by the UP Yodhas for the whopping amount of Rs 1.65 crore. For the upcoming season of PKL 11, Bengaluru Bulls bought Pardeep Narwal a second time for Rs 70 Lakhs in the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 auction in Mumbai. 

PKL Most expensive player for each season

Rakesh Kumar is the very first and most expensive player in the inaugural season of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Arjuna Award winner and the former vice-captain of the national Kabaddi team Rakesh Kumar was bought by the Patana franchise for Rs 12.80 lakhs. 

However, by season 4 the PKL auction price surged almost four times when Mohit Chhillar became the most expensive player for the massive amount of Rs 53 Lakhs and joined Bengaluru Bulls. Iranian player Fazel Atrachali was the first player who crossed the Rs 1 crore mark in the PKL 6, but Monu Goyat clinched the most expensive player for the season. Goyat joined the Haryana Steelers for Rs 1.51 crore.
