The excitement of the Asia Cup 2025 has ended, and now the spotlight shifts to the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, starting from Tuesday, September 30. The tournament will run for 34 days across India and Sri Lanka, with 31 matches lined up. Eight top teams will battle for the prestigious trophy in a round-robin format, followed by semi-finals and the grand final.
When and Where is the Opening Match?
The Women’s World Cup 2025 will kick off with India vs Sri Lanka in the opening game.

Tournament Format
- No group stage this time.
- All 8 teams will face each other once (7 matches each) in a round-robin format.
- 28 league matches will be played till October 26.
- Top 4 teams on the points table will qualify for the semi-finals.
- Semi-final 1: Rank 1 vs Rank 4
- Semi-final 2: Rank 2 vs Rank 3
- Final: November 2 at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai (unless Pakistan qualifies, then the final will be in Colombo).
