The India vs England semifinal in the 2022 edition took place at the Adelaide Oval, and it was a nightmare for Team India. It started with England winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. India didn’t have a great start, and KL Rahul (5 off 5) got out in the second over. Rohit Sharma played a rusty innings of 27 off 28 and got out. Suryakumar Yadav also got out cheaply after making 14 off 10. India were 75/3 in 11.2 overs. Then, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya added 51 runs for the fourth wicket. Virat made 50 off 40 balls. Hardik took the innings together and scored a 33-ball 63. India finished with 168/6.

Chasing the target, England didn’t back down and started the chase aggressively with a 13-run first over. Both English openers added 50 runs in just 4.5 overs and were 63/0 after the first powerplay. They pushed India back in the first six overs, and the Indian bowlers didn’t have a clue. Alex Hales struck his half-century off 28 balls, while Jos Buttler made a 36-ball 50. They were 98/0 in the first ten overs, and it was clear that England were winning. The English team reached the target and made 170/0 in 16 overs, making a big statement with a 10-wicket win over the mighty Indian side. Buttler made 80* off 49, while Alex Hales scored 86* off 47. With that, England made it to the finals and won it against Pakistan.
