The Barbados Royals Women continued their dominance in the Caribbean, clinching the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) 2025 title after edging out Guyana Amazon Warriors Women by three wickets in a nail-biting final at Providence Stadium. With this win, the Royals not only completed a title hat-trick but also remained unbeaten throughout the season.
Batting first, the Guyana Amazon Warriors posted a competitive 136/3 in their 20 overs. Opener Amy Hunter played a patient knock of 29 off 36, while captain Shermaine Campbelle and Dane van Niekerk stitched together an unbeaten 56-run partnership to give their side a fighting total. Stafanie Taylor injury, however, hampered the Warriors’ plans to accelerate in the death overs.
In response, the Royals had a shaky start, losing two early wickets including the in-form Chamari Athapaththu (25). But Kycia Knight and Courtney Webb steadied the chase with crucial middle-order contributions.
The match, however, turned tense in the final overs as the Royals slipped from 108/4 to 110/7, handing the Warriors a glimmer of hope.
When 28 runs were required off the last three overs, the game looked evenly poised. But India Shreyanka Patil, making her comeback after a long injury layoff, showed nerves of steel. Facing a hat-trick ball in the 18th over, she smashed back-to-back reverse-sweep boundaries to shift the momentum.

Alongside her, Aaliyah Alleyne played a decisive cameo, hitting a six and a four in the 19th over to bring the equation down to just four runs needed in the last over. The pair added 27 runs off just 14 balls, guiding the Royals to 137/7 in 19.4 overs, sealing a famous victory.
