In sync with Hanuma Vihari’s call to move to Tripura, Vijay Shankar is also set to make a domestic cricket transition after a thoughtful evaluation. Switching from the home team after 13 years, the all-rounder is convinced about this decision, offering Tripura more depth for the next domestic edition. He has reportedly obtained an NOC with clarification by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).Â
Shankar awaits the official approval from the Tripura Cricket Association after completing with initial formalities. He mentioned that once he receives confirmation from Tripura, he will finally declare his switch. Shankar made his debut in his domestic journey with Tamil Nadu in 2012. The 34-year-old cricketer has been featured in 12 ODIs and 9 T20Is, with a high-octane World Cup match against Pakistan in 2019 at Old Trafford.Â
According to the sources, Shankar will be part of Vihari-led Tripura for the upcoming edition. In the next contests, Tripura will feature in the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
