In the auction, Mumbai-based local cricket talents have secured massive prices as Atharva Ankolekar got sold for 16.25 lakhs, while Sairaj Patil and Musheer Khan attracted a bid worth 15 lakhs each.
Witnessing a domestic T20 tournament built around the participation of 280 players, there is curiosity around the auction as to which players are on the cards for the eight franchises that will renew their squads. The teams will show up from May 26 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, leading to a final match on June 8.

As a rising star, he was up for grabs as his average (51.14) justifies his pricing in the T20 Mumbai League auction. Another batting powerhouse who is an emerging young cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is Ayush Mahtre, who represents Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025. This 17-year-old cricketer is making waves in IPL with his first half-century in only 25 balls in IPL where he hit a massive 94 runs off 48 balls. Mahtre is the third-youngest cricketer in IPL to go for a fifty at an age below 18 years. In the auction held on Wednesday, Ayush Mahtre was bought by Triumph Knights Mumbai North East at a whopping price of 14.75 lakhs, becoming one of the expensive cricketers in the T20 Mumbai League 2025.

In the current IPL 2025 season, he represents Kolkata Knight Riders.
