India’s historic triumph at the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 continues to bring heart-warming celebrations across the country. After lifting their first-ever World Cup trophy by defeating South Africa in the final, several state governments have begun honouring their star players with huge cash rewards, government jobs, and special recognitions.
Andhra Pradesh Showers Big Rewards on Shree Charani
Young left-arm spinner Shree Charani, one of India’s standout performers in the tournament, has received the biggest honour so far. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Charani and announced a grand reward:
- ₹2.5 crore cash prize
- 1000 sq. yard residential plot in Kadapa
- Group-1 government job in Andhra Pradesh

Shree Charani played a vital role in India’s title run, picking 14 wickets and finishing as the team’s second-highest wicket-taker. She also claimed a crucial wicket in the final, helping India script history.
Maharashtra Government Rewards Mandhana, Jemimah & Radha
The Maharashtra government also held a special ceremony to honour its World Cup heroes.
Three players from the state received ₹2.25 crore each:
- Smriti Mandhana – India’s top run-scorer of the tournament
- Jemimah Rodrigues – played a match-winning knock in the semifinal
- Radha Yadav – delivered key performances throughout the World Cup

In addition, India head coach Amol Muzumdar was honoured with a ₹22.5 lakh award for guiding the team to their maiden ICC title.
Renuka Thakur Rewarded by Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a ₹1 crore reward for pacer Renuka Thakur for her bowling brilliance and contribution to India’s World Cup victory. The state government also promised her a government job upon return.
