Indian opener Smriti Mandhana continued her dream run in 2025, smashing a brilliant 108 off 83 balls in the second ODI against Australia at Mullanpur. With this knock, she recorded her 12th ODI century, equalling the world record for most centuries by a women’s opener alongside New Zealand Suzie Bates and England Tammy Beaumont.
This landmark came just days after she struck a half-century in the opening ODI, which helped her reclaim the No.1 position in ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, ahead of Nat Sciver-Brunt.
Mandhana reached her ton in just 77 balls, smashing 6 fours and 2 sixes, making it the second-fastest century by an Indian woman in ODIs, only behind her own 70-ball hundred against Ireland earlier this year.
Batting with authority, she built a 114-run partnership with young opener Pratika Rawal, giving India a strong start.
