Veteran White-ball cricket opener Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from International and domestic cricket. On Saturday, Shikhar Dhawan who played 269 matches and posted 10867 runs including ODIs, Tests, and T20Is, took to social media and posted his retirement from all the cricket formats.
38, Shikhar Dhawan shared an emotional message for his fans expressing gratitude for all the love and support received throughout his career in a video post of X (Formerly Twitter) captioned-
“As I close this chapter of my cricketing journey, I carry with me countless memories and gratitude. Thank you for the love and support! Jai Hind”

Dhawan shared his emotions in a post on ‘X’ and said, “I am standing at a point where when I look back, I only see memories and a new life when I look forward. It was always my dream to play for India, and I got to live it. I am thankful to a lot of people for that… But it is said that to move forward, you need to flip the pages.”
He continued as said his final goodbyes from the cricket,
“I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket. As I bid farewell to my cricketing journey, I have peace in my heart. I played a lot for my country. I only say this to myself, that you don’t need to be upset about not playing for your country again, but be happy that you had the opportunity to do so.”
During his scintillating career, Shikhar Dhawan played 167 ODIs, 34 Tests, and 68 T20Is. 2010 debuted, Dhawan amassed 10,867 runs including 24 centuries and 55 half-centuries in 288 innings. He last played for India in December of 2022 in an ODI match against Bangladesh at Chattogram.

For more than a decade Shikhar Dhawan played a vital role in Team Blue. Although, the cricketer adieus his international and domestic cricket career, he might continue his domestic league like IPL.
