Indian star cricketer Sanju Samson bought a stake in Kerala Super League club Malappuram FC and became the co-owner of the club. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson who is also from Kerala spread his horizon beyond cricket and entered the sports world of Football.
Super League Kerala is a new football league of Kerala established to encourage the local talents of football players. A total of six teams will partake in the inaugural season representing the region of Kerala including Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Kochi, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur.
On Tuesday, 10 September, the announcement came from the Malappuram FC official Instagram page with the caption,” Sanju is with us”
The Malappuram FC also won their first game with a 2-1 victory over Forca Kochi in an away match at Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium. The Malappuram-based football club also has a home stadium the Payyanad Stadium aka the Malappuram District Sports Complex Stadium with a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators.
Sanju Samson one of the most prominent cricketers from Kerala also invested in the Malappuram FC which will compete in the Super League Kerala. Despite struggling with sticking to his place in Team India, Sanju constantly is looking for better ways to support sports showing his new love interest for football sports.
A few days ago, Samson was named as the tournament icon for the Kerala Cricket League 2024 by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA).
