Good news for indian cricket fans! The wait to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in action may soon be over. Reports suggest that the legendary duo could make their much-anticipated comeback in the India A vs Australia A ODI series set to be played at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, from September 30 to October 5, 2025.
This return will mark their first appearance since lifting the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year in Dubai, where India defeated New Zealand in the final to clinch back-to-back ICC titles.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not featured in international cricket since March 2025. Both retired from T20Is after the 2024 T20 World Cup and stepped away from Test cricket earlier this year, leaving fans eager to watch them in action again.
This ODI series against Australia A will serve as:
- Match practice before Australia tour: India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against Australia starting October 19, 2025.
- Form & fitness check: Kohli’s return will double as a fitness test, while Rohit will look to get back into rhythm as ODI captain.
- Preparation for 2027 World Cup: Both players have expressed interest in playing the next ODI World Cup, making this series crucial in their road map.
