Dealing with intense heat in the United Arab Emirates, the timing for 18 matches of the Asia Cup 2025 has been revised to delay the games by half an hour from the originally planned schedule. The revised timing applies for all Super Four Stage fixtures and final matches apart from all day-night group stage fixtures.
Except for the seventh match between United Arab Emirates and Oman, starting at 5:30 PM on September 15, other clashes will now start at 8 PM IST instead of 7:30 PM IST. In local time, these revised matches will begin at 6:30 PM (GST).
According to weather forecasting, the temperature is set to soar in September, reaching an initial 40 degrees with continuous exposure of heat in the evenings. In an attempt to prevent playing in such blazing heat, various cricket boards spoke about delaying the time. The Asia Cup broadcasters also showed consent to make changes. It implies that each day-night match will start at 8 PM IST.
In the eight-nation based tournament, the opening match will be played between Hong Kong and Afghanistan on September 9 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
