Ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024, Tamil Thalaivas announced Sagar Rathee as their skipper. The Chennai-based franchise retained defender Sagar for the PKL 11 season.
On Tuesday, Tamil Thalivas confirmed that Sagar Rathee will lead the squad ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 season. One of the star defenders of the team, Sagar held the captaincy in PKL season 9 and raised the team’s status from bottom to semifinals. .

Sagar was also captain of the Thalaivas for the 10th season of the PKL. 24, Sagar Rathee missed 6 games due to an injury in the previous season. In his absence, vice-captain Ajinkya Pawar and Sahil Gulia both managed the squad in 2023.
Earlier in the PKL 2024 Auction, the franchise retained Sagar for the price of INR 41.22 Lakhs due to his vital role in the past seasons. They also bought Sachin Tanwar hailing from Rajasthan for the whopping amount of INR 2.15 crore making him the most expensive player of the PKL 11 season.
The franchise also made history to appoint two head coaches Udaya Kumar as the chief coach and Dharmaraj Cheralathan as the strategy coach for the upcoming season.
