Pakistan gear up for the maiden title as the countdown to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 has started. The mega cricket event is set to kick off from 30 September to run till November 2.
As the stage awaits lightning performances in Sri Lanka, the National Selection Committee overseeing Pakistan’s Women’s cricket has declared a renewed squad containing 15 members with seven debutants. The same combination will be tested against South Africa in an ODI series packed with three matches as Pakistan will host the visitors at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from 16 to 22 September.
An experienced player from the last edition, Fatima Sana, will also feature in the World Cup, but as a captain, leading the team in the high-profile event on the first occasion. The squad also includes an ODI debutant, Eyman Fatima, after her first T20I match against Ireland.
In the World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, Pakistan will participate in all group-stage clashes at R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. In case they get a ticket to semi-final (October 29) and final (November 2), Colombo will host both clashes.
