In a major decision from Ambanis that could help the Hundred League to gain more popularity as IPL has – Nita Ambani who is the owner of Mumbai Indians from a decade has bought 49 per cent stake in Oval Invincibles for Rs 705 crore and set to expand their brand name in all over the world.
If the deal goes through, Oval Invincibles will become the first team in The Hundred to be rebranded by an international group. The idea is to keep all teams under the same MI family, just like how other global sports brands operate.
Why did Nita Ambani decide to buy Oval Invincibles ?
Nita Ambani has been active in growing the brand worldwide and she already had their international teams like MI Captown and MI Emirates. Now Ambanis are looking to enter the UK sport market by joining The Hundred, one of England’s top T20-style leagues.

There is no official announcement yet, but Nita Ambani is likely to buy Oval London in the next Hundred League 2026. If this happens, it will be a big moment for The Hundred and could attract more international investors to English cricket.
