Big news for Chennai Super Kings fans! Former BCCI President N Srinivasan is officially back with the Chennai Super Kings setup. He has been appointed as the Chairman of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited (CSKCL), the company that owns and manages the IPL franchise.
This marks a significant comeback for Srinivasan, who played a key role in CSK’s rise as one of the most successful franchises in IPL history.
According to the annual report, Srinivasan and his daughter Rupa Gurunath were appointed as Additional Directors of CSKCL on February 10, 2025. Their appointments will be confirmed at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“N Srinivasan is now the Chairman of CSKCL,” reported TOI, confirming the news that has excited CSK supporters.
CSKCL is also working on:
- Expanding its global footprint with Joburg Super Kings (SA20) and Texas Super Kings (MLC).
- Setting up more cricket academies and performance centers around the world.
- Monetising its stadiums and sports facilities to generate additional revenue.
- CSK’s IPL 2025 season was disappointing – the team failed to qualify for the playoffs and finished last.
- MS Dhoni returned as captain mid-season after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury but couldn’t turn things around.
- Fans are hopeful that with Srinivasan back as chairman, CSK will regroup and plan better for IPL 2026.
