Bangladesh senior wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has achieved a landmark that will be remembered for generations. The 38-year-old scored a magnificent century in his 100th Test match against Ireland at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, becoming the first Bangladeshi player ever to reach this milestone and convert it into a hundred.
With this special knock, Mushfiqur has now entered one of the rarest clubs in cricket history, becoming only the 11th cricketer in 148 years of Test cricket to score a hundred in his 100th Test match.
Mushfiqur walked out on Day 2 on 99 not out, and the entire stadium was on its feet. Ireland’s bowlers tried building pressure early, but the veteran looked completely calm. On the third ball of the 91st over, he gently guided a fuller delivery toward square leg to reach his 13th Test hundred.
The home crowd erupted in loud applause as Mushfiqur raised his bat, marking one of the most iconic moments in Bangladesh cricket.

Mushfiqur is already Bangladesh most experienced Test cricketer, and his 100th-Test century adds another golden chapter to his career. No Bangladeshi player before him had even reached 100 Tests, let alone scored a hundred in the milestone match.
His disciplined 106-run innings (214 balls, 5 fours) helped Bangladesh move into a strong position in the match and showcased the class and patience that have defined his long Test career.
Bangladesh started Day 2 at 292/4. Once Mushfiqur settled, he held the innings together and ensured the team remained in control. His century became the biggest turning point of the match and a major boost for Bangladesh’s batting lineup.
