Musheer Khan has been the talk of the town since the first day of the Duleep Trophy 2024. The younger Khan brother made his Duleep Trophy debut in the first game against India A, which is ongoing at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, and is playing one of the best ever knocks in the domestic red-ball competition in India. The game started with India A winning the toss and deciding to bowl first.
The bowlers did a great job at the start and restricted India B to 94/7 in just 43.5 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant, and Washington Sundar couldn’t do anything with the bat. That was the time when the 19-year-old showed great maturity and added a game-changing partnership with No. 8 Navdeep Saini. He took the charge and took the scoring rate forward. With this, he went on to strike his first FC century and debut hundred on his Duleep Trophy debut.
Duleep Trophy 2024: Musheer Khan goes past the 150-run mark against India A
With a number of big names playing for India B, and a 19-year-old taking the team to a better position was a perfect script for the youngster. India B were in deep trouble at 94/7, and it looked like they would be bowled out for a below par score. But Musheer made sure that they weren’t going to surrender easily. He batted sensibly and took them out from a tricky phase during the second session on day 1.

He took singles when needed and gave only limited balls to Saini to face. He took the partnership to 100, then 150, and both batters are taking it to 200. However, Musheer made sure that he was taking the scoreboard ticking from his end. He completed his well-deserved century in the third session of Day 1 after surviving a tough phase in the second session.
India B finished with 202/7 at the stumps on the first day, and Musheer was unbeaten on 102, with a 108-run stand with Saini. In the first session on day 2, he continued the attack. India B finished the morning session at 290/7 with Musheer scoring 72 runs, and the partnership crossed the 200-run mark, with Saini also had a decent contribution.
Musheer completed his 150 and missed his second FC double century. This was a great moment for the youngster, as India is likely to announce the squad for the coming Bangladesh home Test series after the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024. If he can continue, there are slim chances that the selectors might look at him.
Unfortunately, he missed a well-deserved double hundred. Musheer got out on 181 runs with 16 fours and 5 sixes. The partnership ended with 205 runs, which has taken India B from problematic situations, and they are on the driving seat.
