In an interview with Star Sports, Russell defines the conditions of the Chepauk Stadium after a league match against CSK and how it will affect their gameplay against their opponent in the IPL Final.
Russell said,
“We know how we need to bowl, utilise our cutters, and try not to go for yorkers and those sorts of things. It’s the type of pitch and ground where you can bowl into the wicket, even in the death overs.”
He continued,
“We have to go about it as smartly as possible, taking it one game at a time. I think when the time comes, we’ve been adjusting well as a bowling unit. If the wicket is a bit slow, we can use power cutters but not be too predictable.”
Russell and KKR will soon meet the second IPL finalist, once the SRH and RR battle gives the winner to fight with the League topper in the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The clash between KKR and the second finalist will be scheduled on 26 May at Chepauk Stadium.
