South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada is set to miss the three-match ODI series against hosts Australia. Just before the first clash, scheduled for August 19, the medical examination confirmed, Rabada had endured inflammation in his right ankle. The pacer appeared for a scan on August 18, revealing his injury needs ample time for recovery.
After Rabada was ruled out of the ODI series, Cricket South Africa informed that he will be in Australia for rehabilitation for a full-fledged support from the medical staff under their supervision.
The first match will take place at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns, where the pace trio – Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi, and Wiaan Mulder will be in action.
Playing in the absence of the star pacer will be challenging for South Africa after a recent blow in the three-match T20I series. The visitors will seek redemption after losing 1-2, propelling South Africa to make the most out of this tour to Australia.
