25-year-old Sarfaraz also became the fourth batter who hit a double ton in the prestigious tournament. With 253 balls, Sarfaraz reached the 200-run score and put his team in a dominant position on day 2 of the Irani Cup.
The young batter also partnered with captain Ajinkya Rahane, both gave a 131-run partnership which contributed to Mumbai’s score of 487 for 8 in 128 overs.
So far, Sarfaraz has hit 15 centuries and 14 half-centuries in first-class cricket. Sarfaraz has been making noise in domestic cricket with his back-to-back batting performances. However, he couldn’t cement his place into the playing XI in the ongoing bilateral series of IND vs BAN.
However, several cricket pundits believe that if Sarfaraz keeps going like this, the day is not far when he will play for Team Blue.
