Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have finally settled the captaincy debate for IPL 2026 – and the answer is exactly what fans expected. The franchise has officially confirmed Pat Cummins as their captain for the upcoming season, extending his leadership into a third straight IPL edition.
This comes just days after SRH announced their full list of retained and released players, clearing the path for a fresh squad rebuild ahead of the IPL 2026 Mini Auction on 15 December in Abu Dhabi.

Although SRH did not issue a formal written statement, the franchise posted a picture of Pat Cummins on their official X handle with a clear message: “2024, 2025, 2026… Orange Again. Captain Edition.”
This subtle but strong message confirms that SRH have chosen stability and faith in the Australian superstar, who has transformed the franchise since taking over in IPL 2024.
