The excitement surrounding the India vs Australia T20I series has reached sky-high levels, with Cricket Australia officially confirming that all public tickets for the October 31 T20I at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) have been completely sold out — more than three weeks before match day.
This T20I is the second match of the five-game series, and fans across both countries are showing unmatched enthusiasm. The sold-out status this early has made it one of the most anticipated white-ball clashes of the season.
Ticket Sales Surpass 1.75 Lakh Across Series
According to Cricket Australia (CA), the combined ticket sales for India’s white-ball tour — covering three ODIs and five T20Is — have already crossed 175,000.
“The huge crowd anticipated for the Melbourne T20I is another strong indicator of the incredible interest in this series,” said CA CEO Todd Greenberg.
He added,
“To have over 1.75 lakh tickets sold even before the first ball is bowled in Perth is a phenomenal result. It speaks volumes about the strength of the India-Australia rivalry.”
The public ticket allocations for Sydney and Manuka Oval have already been fully exhausted, while other venues like Adelaide Oval and Gabba are close to capacity, with less than 5,000 tickets remaining for each.
Member-only tickets (AFL and MCC) for the Melbourne clash are being made available this week to meet the remaining demand.
