It has been revealed that Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has taken a holiday to an unidentified location. Hardik Pandya’s disappearance from Team India before their departure for the T20 World Cup last night has everyone wondering where he is. Hardik would meet up with Rohit and the rest of the team in New York, according to a report on Cricbuzz. Shortly after MI’s defeat by the Lucknow Super Giants in their final IPL 2024 match, he left for his vacation.
On Saturday night, the Indian team departed Mumbai for New York (May 25). Pandya was in an undisclosed place overseas, thus he did not board the team flight. When the Mumbai Indians’ season came to a close, Pandya took a plane out of the nation following a mentally and professionally taxing IPL season. He will, nevertheless, arrive for the team’s first New York practice in time. Pandya is the vice-captain of the Rohit Sharma-led squad competing in the US and West Indies from June 1–29 in the Twenty20 World Cup.
Pandya made headlines throughout the IPL because of his underwhelming performance and inability to guide the Mumbai Indians to a decent place. In actuality, the squad placed last in the table.
In the meanwhile, it makes sense that the Indian squad was unable to board the flight on May 25. This included Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Avesh Khan, all members of the Rajasthan Royals who participated in the IPL Qualifier 2 in Chennai on May 24.
Reports also suggest that Virat Kohli will also be joining late as he has requested to the BCCI for an extended leave.
