T20WC 2024: Team India is ready to take on England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana ahead of the 2nd semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
On Thursday 27 June, India led by Rohit Sharma, and reigning champion England led by Jos Buttler will have a face-off in the Guyana National Stadium
In a highly anticipated match, where fans have been waiting for a tight knockout round between India and England, AccuWeather reports show signs of inclement weather. According to the weather forecast of Guyana for Thursday 27 June is threatened by an 88% chance of rain and an 18% chance of thunderstorms.
The IND vs ENG 2nd Semi match has been allotted an extra 250 minutes even if rain interrupted the game to decide the finalist for the T20 World Cup 2024. However, there is no reserve day scheduled for the 2nd semifinal game.
So what will happen if rain washes out the India vs England semifinal in Guyana?
It is obvious, one team will lose the ticket for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. But it will not be India as Team Blue will qualify for the Final. How? Well! To make it as simple as possible, undefeated India entered the semi as a table-topper while England ended up as a runner-up.
According to the ICC T20 World Cup rule, in case of a match with no result or abandonment due to rain or any reason, the team with the top spot will automatically qualify for the final match.
After the AccuWeather report, it is sure Team India’s dressing room is more chill than England’s, stressing over the not-so-favorable weather report of the Providence Stadium ahead of 2nd semis of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Especially after England, Cricket poked fun at India on their official X Twitter account with the caption,
“Anyone know what happened last time?… ”
