Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s amazing run of six matches ended on Wednesday as the Rajasthan Royals got the better of them by four wickets. With Sanju Samson leading the way, the Rajasthan Royals held the formidable Royal Challengers Bengaluru batting lineup to a mere score of 172/8. Yashasvi Jaiswal put up good stands with Tom Kohler-Cadmore and captain Sanju Samson to help RR get off to a steady start. But in the middle overs, RCB turned the tide by quickly dismissing Samson and Jaiswal.
Unfortunately, sport is not a fairytale and our remarkable run in #IPL2024 came to an end. Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik express their emotions and thank fans for their unwavering support. ❤️#PlayBold #ನಮ್ಮRCB pic.twitter.com/FYygVD3UiC

Virat Kohli then made a tremendous attempt to run out Dhruv Jurel at the boundary. Even with Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer entering the game, RR needed 58 runs from the final six overs, but based on their fielding strategy and the errors the batsmen were making during their runs between the wickets, RCB appeared to be the stronger team. That went away quite quickly, though, as Rovman Powell went about finishing the chase.
After the defeat, there was a depressing tone in the dressing room when Dinesh Karthik, Virat Kohli, and Faf du Plessis said their goodbyes.
RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis stated that they intended to produce something even more amazing by winning those three games and taking home the trophy, and that’s why the defeat was upsetting because the last six games were special.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli conceded that the first half for RCB wasn’t up to par. He will, however, remember the team’s remarkable recovery from a complete collapse and how they restored confidence for a very long time.
In the end, they thanked the fans for their unwavering support in Bengaluru and the way they came to support them all across the country.
