Amid the latest developments, Australia have come up with a new kit or jersey ahead of the white-ball summer, which promotes the indigenous history. Cricket Australia (CA) announced the jersey for men’s and women’s cricket.
The Australian men’s or women’s team will be donning vibrant yellow jerseys in the 50-over format, whereas in T20 international the jersey has a green color with yellow stripes. However, the most interesting aspect of the new kit is the indigenous theme that took inspiration from the first autochthonous XI from the mid 1800s that toured England for the very first time.
The new kit offers a perfect connection from the past to the present. The native work art is present on the shoulders on both white-ball kits, whereas the new kit for tests has nothing much different apart from the change of logo of the main sponsor to Westpac from Toyota.

Popular Indigenous artist Aunty Fiona Clarke has updated his signature artwork of Walkabout Wickets for the newly launched kit, which is titled “Land & Sea.” Clarke said, “I am both honored and proud to have created the artwork for the players’ uniforms. It’s powerful to see today’s players carry the story of the first Aboriginal XI Cricket Walkabout team with them.”
She also explained that the kit is designed in order to glorify the early generation and to connect the history to the present. The Australian couple, Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy, posed in the new kit and called it a memorable moment. The new design offers extra magnitude towards the Aboriginal XI from the mid-1800s.

As the Australian cricket team are set to step into the new white-ball summer season, they will hope the new uniform can help them carry their dominance in these formats. These two are major ICC events coming up in the coming 6-7 months in men’s and women’s cricket, and Australia will hope to deliver some memorable performances. The Women’s Cricket World Cup will start in September 2025, and the T20 World Cup 2026 will begin in February next year.
