Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: Australian allrounder Cameroon Green has been ruled out from the upcoming Australia vs India’s Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025 due to undergoing lower spinal surgery.
In fact, this surgery will cost six months of Cameron Green as he is about to miss the Sri Lanka Tour, the Champions Trophy next year, and is likely to miss the Indian Premier League 2024. The decision was made by Cameron himself after consulting the medical team and staff of Cricket Australia.
25-year-old Cameron Green will undergo the knife as he will have surgery for the stress fracture in his lumbar spine. Initially, Green got the injury in the third ODI match of the five-match series Australia’s Tour of England in September 2024.

This will be the dream-crushing for Cricket Australia who was hoping the beat India in the upcoming series ahead of the World Test Championship Final 2025 at the Lords.
According to the spokesperson of the CA, ”Recovery time is anticipated to be around six months. The decision to proceed to surgery is with Cameron’s long-term future as an all-rounder in mind.”
Green was under-diagnosed during the England vs Australia ODI series in speculation that he would return by the time of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025. But now he decided to go with surgery as it would help prolong his career as an all-rounder.
To replace Green in the upcoming Champion’s Trophy 2025, Marcus Stoinis will return to the ODI team while Steve Smith will be back in the Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
