The iconic international cricketers who deserve to be awarded for their phenomenal performance all year long receive prestigious BCCI Awards annually. Since 2006-07 the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been praising the outstanding Indian players in International cricket to recognise the exceptional talents of both men and women. This time around Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah who represents Men’s team and consistent run scorer Smriti Mandhana in the Women’s squad have topped the list of awards.
On the evening of Saturday 2 Feb 2025, both star cricketers Jasprit Bumrah and Smriti Mandhana who play modern-day cricket will be the center of attention as they will be honored with Best International Cricketer in men’s and women’s categories respectively.
After being accoladed by ICC for brilliance in Test and other formats, regular decisive wicket taker Bumrah restricted 15 batsmen in the T20I World Cup 2024 pushing the second title in the lap of the Indian team after a long wait of 17 years. The attacking spells fetched Bumrah 71 wickets in 13 Test matches in a single year which is a new record after Kapil Dev’s bowling performance. Jasprit Bumrah will receive this award for the third time, as his unique bowling style is incredible turning out as a major factor in claiming victory against Bangladesh and England in the year gone by. Smriti Mandhana is also the third-time winner of the Best International Cricketer of the Year award in the women’s category due to elevating her innings with an astounding average of about 57 and achieving the feat of slamming 747 runs in a calendar year. With ODI Player of the Year by ICC, her four ODI tons in a year are unmatchable in women’s cricket. The entire list containing 26 awards was shared by BCCI prior to the official award ceremony which is going to be hosted on Saturday in Mumbai.
The list of winners under BCCI Awards 2025 also highlights other big names who have had countable contributions with bat, ball, fielding or umpiring. Indian former batsman, and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will be called on the stage to award him with the C.K. Naydu Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long shining career taking the Indian team to the next level. Similarly, all individuals who have demonstrated their excellence throughout the year and key contributors in the past will be given immense respect with bestowing awards to them. Domestic cricket is also in the spotlight in the BCCI Awards 2025 rewarding growing talents from players to umpires. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is being given the award ‘Best Performance in BCCI Domestic Tournaments’ as an applaudable contribution for taking steps to surge cricket talents. MCA claimed a lot of titles such as:

BCCI Awards 2025 covers individuals from newcomers to retired players. Sarfaraz Khan will collect the award for making the best international debut and Asha Sobhana is shortlisted in the women’s category for the same award. In the 2022-23 ceremony, Indian batter in contemporary cricket, Shubman Gill received the award. Virat Kohli was on the stage five times while Ravichandran Ashwin and Sachin Tendulkar with the highest runs in ODI and Test Cricket got the honor two times.
