I'm sharing some news with you today. I have decided to resign as captain of the Pakistan men's cricket team, effective as of my notification to the PCB and Team Management last month.
It's been an honour to lead this team, but it's time for me to step down and focus…
He continued, “It’s time for me to step down and focus on my playing role…By stepping down, I will gain clarity moving forward and focus more energy on my game and personal growth.”
While many fans supported his decision and wished him a better future. However, Babar Azam faced a backlash from fans who roasted him for resigning a second time. Many fans trolled him with ‘Congratulations On Meme-Worthy Career’ on X.
Naturally, a large group of fans were disappointed with Babar’s decision especially when the 2025 ICC Championship Trophy is yet to win. Several fans also mocked the Pakistani Team’s poor performance in the ICC ODI and T20I World Cup when they were knocked out from the group stages.
