Indian skipper Rohit Sharma might miss the opening match of the 5-test series of Australia vs India, a part of the World Test Championship. Due to personal reasons, Rohit Sharma might miss the first test match which is already consulted by the BCCI.
The India Cricket Team will soon leave for Perth on November 22 for the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. There is a high chance that Rohit will miss the first test or the second which will commence on 6 December. With the possibility of Rohit amiss, Abhimanyu Easwaran is a possible replacement with KL Rahul and Shubman Gill opener during the first test match.
However, according to the BCCI source, there is no clarity on the report. Via the Times of India report,
There isn’t any complete clarity about the situation. It is understood that Rohit has intimidated to the BCCI that there is a possibility due to a pressing personal matter, he might have to skip the one of the two tests at the beginning of the series…”
He also said that just in case a personal matter is solved he will play all five test matches. 37-year-old Rohit has played 7 test matches and 14 innings in Australia. He bagged 408 runs with a 47.66 strike rate and an average rate of 31.38. His highest score in Australia is an unbeaten 63.
