Afghanistan cricket team has created history in Abu Dhabi. They defeated Bangladesh by a massive 200-run margin in the third and final ODI and won the series 3-0. This is Afghanistan’s fifth straight ODI series win – a big statement from a team that continues to rise fast in world cricket.
Zadran Shines Again with the Bat
Batting first, Afghanistan made 293 runs for nine wickets. Opener Ibrahim Zadran played another superb innings, scoring 95 runs from 111 balls. He missed his century again by just five runs but gave his team a solid start.
Mohammad Nabi also batted well and remained not out on 62 runs, helping Afghanistan reach a strong total. Zadran was named Player of the Series for scoring 213 runs in three matches, showing great form throughout.

Bangladesh Batters Fall Apart
Bangladesh’s reply never took off. Their batsmen had no answers to Afghanistan’s pace and spin attack. Fast bowler Bilal Sami was the main star with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 33 runs. He bowled with great control and pace, removing key Bangladeshi players early.
Rashid Khan added to the pressure with his spin magic, picking up 3 wickets for only 12 runs. Bangladesh were bowled out for just 93 runs in 27.1 overs. Apart from Saif Hassan, who made 43 runs, no other batsman could even reach double digits.
Afghanistan’s Biggest Win at Abu Dhabi
This 200-run victory is Afghanistan’s second biggest win in ODI cricket and the largest ever at Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, South Africa held the record with a 174-run win against Ireland in 2024, but Afghanistan broke it with this stunning performance.
Sweet Revenge and Growing Confidence
Earlier this year, Bangladesh had beaten Afghanistan 3-0 in a T20 series. This time, Afghanistan gave them a taste of their own medicine in the ODI format.
With five consecutive ODI series wins now, Afghanistan have shown that they are no longer underdogs. Their players — from Zadran’s consistency to Bilal and Rashid’s match-winning spells — are proving that Afghanistan cricket is entering its golden phase.
