Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a 13-year-old cricketer aka “cricket wonder from Bihar”, has made headlines for becoming the youngest player ever to be signed in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals bought him for ₹1.1 crore, breaking all the records in IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
Vaihhav started his cricketing career in Samastipur when he was just four years old. His father, Sanjeev supported his talent from a young age by making a pitch in the backyard. At the age of nine Vaibhav joined a cricket academy in Bihar.

At 12, he played in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy for Bihar, scoring 400 runs in just five matches. His Ranji debut was at just 12 years and 284 days, becoming the second-youngest player in the history of the tournament.
This was just the start of his cricketing journey, however he made headlines by scoring a 62-ball 104 in a youth Test match against Australia Under-19 in Chennai. This made him the youngest player to hit a century in competitive cricket and the second-fastest to do so in youth cricket.
He continued to perform well in matches, his consistent performances have earned him a spot in India’s Under-19 squad for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup in the UAE. Vaibhav’s name was listed as the 491st player in the uncapped category for the IPL auction. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals at a skyhigh price of ₹1.10 Crore.
