The LCK Cup 2025 will commence in South Korea Seoul from January 15 onwards. The Korean League of Legends esports tournament will see 10 teams vying for one spot in the First Stand 2025 event.

With the teams divided into two groups of five, the tournament will see a unique multi-stage format. The format involves the Group Battle, Play-In, and Playoffs, with the final slated for February 23, 2025. Seoul’s LoL Park will stage the LCK Cup 2025 matches.

League of Legends LCK Cup 2025: Format

The League of Legends LCK Cup 2025 has a three-staged format in place for the month-long competition. The LCK Cup starts with the Group Battle.

In the Group Battle, teams face off against the five teams from the other group once on a best-of-three basis. During the round-robin format, the group that manages 13 wins will emerge as the winner group, with the other group being termed as the loser group.

After the Group Battle, the Cup will see two stages: Play-In and Playoffs. The top three teams from the winner group will directly slot in the playoffs while the bottom two move into the Play-In. The top four teams from the loser group will be the other sides to feature in the Play-In stage, with the last positioned team from the loser group getting eliminated.

The Play-In stage will have two elimination rounds, with the top three teams proceeding further to the Playoffs. In the Playoffs, there will be three elimination rounds, with the three Play-In teams and the winner group third team playing round one.

The winner group topper team will have the choice to select their opponent from the round 1 winners, while the other team will battle it out against the winner group No. 2 team.

In the end, the winner will represent LCK in the First Stand 2025, which is the first League of Legends Esports global tournament.
