WPL UPW Retained Players List 2025: Finally, the date has come, and all five franchises in the Women’s Premier League have released their list for the players whom they want to release and retain. There have been some big names who will be featured at the auction ahead of the WPL 2025. The next season is likely to be held in February and March 2025, and there will be a mini-auction before that.
That’s why all five teams have made some big calls during their retentions. UP Warriorz have been an unlucky team in the first two editions. They finished third in 2023 and fourth in 2024. They will have that in their minds, and they have made their retentions clear. Australian white-ball captain Alyssa Healy will be leading the team forward in the WPL 2025 as well. She, along with Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone, are the first-choice retention for the franchise.

Under Healy, UPW has had mixed performances. But the franchise looks pretty desperate to get their hands on the WPL title. The franchise has cleared it with retaining a core set of players who can deliver consistent performance in the next edition. They have already traded Dani Wyatt to RCB. Grace Harris, Tahlia McGrath, and Chamari Athapaththu are among the overseas stars to be retained.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shweta Sehrawat, and Saima Thakor are the key Indian faces who will play for them in the WPL 2025 as well. Lauren Bell is the notable name to be released. Laxmi Yadav, Parshavi Chopra, and S Yashasri are the other three names whom UPW has released ahead of the WPL 2025 auction. They will enter the auction with a purse value left of INR 3.9 crore.
