WPL DC Retained Players List 2025: After the retention of the Indian Premier League, the Women’s Premier League has revealed the retention made by all five teams ahead of the third season. The WPL 2025 will take place in February and March next year, but before then, all teams will get a chance to rebuild their strategies during the mini-auction. On Thursday, all five WPL franchises made the announcement for their retained and released players.
The two-time finalist Delhi Capitals have also made sure that they will be keeping faith in the tried and tested performers. Hence, they have retained a total of 14 players from the squad they had in the last season. Their retention includes five overseas stars. Though the franchise was keen to trade in star Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma but the deal didn’t go through.

DC has been the unlucky team in the first two editions. They have made it to the final twice but lost both times. In 2023, they lost the final to Mumbai Indians, and in 2024, they lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore. But making it to the final twice is commendable, which is why the franchise has proceeded with almost the same squad.
They have released Laura Harris, who played only one game in two editions. Alice Capsey, Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen, and Annabel Sutherland are the overseas retentions for the franchise. They have also retained Indian capped stars like Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Taniya Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, and Shikha Pandey.
The squad is looking similar, but they will look to add on a few good names at the auction. DC will enter the WPL 2025 auction with a purse value left of INR 2.5 crore. The franchise has one overseas slot vacant, and they might look to have an overseas keeper.
