The USA team have a number of players of Indian origin who shifted to the country in search of opportunities in the game. Their first T20I captain, Saurabh Netravalkar, was born in Mumbai and shifted to the USA. Then, the current captain, Monank Patel, was born in Gujarat on May 1, 1993, and played U-19 cricket for Gujarat. He made his debut in 2019 for the USA and became the captain in 2021. He is leading the team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Monank is a keeper batsman who plays at the top. Monank has led this team to 18 T20Is and won 14 matches, with three defeats and one tied game. He is one of their main batters in ODIs and T20Is.
