Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match No. 33 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 17, starting at 7:30 PM IST. MI are missing out on the spark with which they won five IPL trophies, but their comeback made headlines after defeating table topper Delhi Capitals (DC). Similarly, Sunrisers Hyderabad proved that the sun rises again as, after four back-to-back defeats, they posted a victory.
Out of seven fixtures, MI won only 2 games, while they lost the match 4 times. With four points, MI have acquired the seventh position in the points table. Away from their home ground, the Indians clinched a thrilling 12-run victory against the Capitals. Once again, Tilak Varma stayed firm on the crease, playing a brilliant and speedy inning of 59 runs that rallied MI to 205/5. In reply, despite an impact player Karun Nair smashing 89 runs off 40 balls, DC couldn’t end the match on a winning note. If MI want their good days back, it will be important for them to win almost all matches.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have played 6 games, winning only 2 and losing 4. As of now, they are harshly being spotted at 9th spot on the points table. In the last match at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the entire match saw 492 runs at the loss of just 8 wickets. In a dramatic thriller, PBKS batted first and scored a mammoth 245/6 in 20 overs, with a dream inning by skipper Shreyas Iyer (82 off 36 balls). However, whoever watched this match can not forget the heroic innings by Abhishek Sharma (141 off 55 balls) and Travis Head (66 off 37 balls) that propelled SRH to a historical chase (247/2) to win the match by 8 wickets. More similar innings are expected from aggressive batting powerhouse SRH hold when they travel to Mumbai for a match against Mumbai Indians.
