Delhi Capitals (DC) will take Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match No. 29 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on April 13, starting at 7:30 PM IST. DC are enjoying a dream IPL season with a winning streak after four back-to-back victories. However, five-time IPL champions, MI are faced with a disappointing first-half in the 18th edition of IPL.
Delhi Capitals have won all four matches, out of which three victories came during a chase. Blessed with 8 points, DC once again cleared the intent to lift their maiden IPL trophy. In the recent match, DC defeated RCB by 6 wickets, sparked by KL Rahul’s red-hot form as he played a 93-run inning at a massive strike rate of 175.47. It was a flawless game for DC, taking an ideal victory as the target of 164 could be chased in 17.5 overs. In the next clash against MI, DC will aim to change the trend as historically, MI have been more favourable.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have played 5 matches, winning 1 and losing 4. Undoubtedly, repetitive defeats indicate severe flaws in the team. MI played their last match against RCB at Wankhede Stadium, where it failed to chase a target of 222. In that match, only Tilak Varma showed great temperament besides Hardik Pandya as they took the match quite close after a dull start. However, in the end, RCB won the match by 12 runs, revealing it would not be easy for MI to make a comeback. From here, MI will look forward to winning every match for a dramatic comeback.
