The first official pink ball test was played between Australia and New Zealand in November 2015 at Adelaide Oval.
India played their first pink ball test in November 2019 at Eden Gardens against Bangladesh. They have played four games so far, one each against Bangladesh, Australia, England, and Sri Lanka, respectively. India have a few upcoming pink ball fixtures scheduled. 1. IND vs BAN, Kolkata, 2019
The first pink ball test for India was played at Eden Gardens against Bangladesh. India had a tremendous start, and Virat Kohli led them to a great victory. India batted once and declared their innings at 347/9.
Virat scored 136 and became the first Indian batter with a century in a pink ball test. Bangladesh were bowled out for 106 and 195 in two innings. Ishant Sharma took 5/22 and 4/56 in two innings and won the Player of the Match award. He became the first Indian with a fifer in pink ball test.
2. IND vs AUS, Adelaide, 2020
Not even a single Indian fan can forget what happened at the Adelaide Oval in the first test of the BGT 2020/21. It was a pink ball test, and India were ahead in the game after the first innings finished. They made 244 runs, with Virat top-scoring with 74. Australia got all out for 191, and India had a lead of 53 runs.
But the second innings was a disaster for India as they were bowled out for their lowest test total of just 36 runs. Josh Hazlewood (5/8) and Pat Cummins (4/21) were unplayable for the Indians. As a result, Australia had a target of 90 runs to win, and they made 93/2 to win by 8 wickets.
3. IND vs ENG, Ahmedabad, 2021
India played their third pink ball test against England, which took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in February 2021. This was a low-scoring game, and only 387 runs were scored in four innings, and India won that game by 10 wickets.
England were blown away by Axar Patel and were bowled out for 112 and 81 in two innings. Axar took 6/38 and 5/32 in that game and won the Player of the Match award as well. India had a score of 49 runs to chase which they did without losing a wicket.
4. IND vs SL, Bengaluru, 2022
The fourth pink ball test for India was against Sri Lanka at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This was the first pink ball game as captain for Rohit Sharma. India made 252 runs in the first innings with Shreyas Iyer scoring 92 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took 5/24 in the second innings, and Sri Lanka were bowled out for 109 runs.
With a lead of 143 runs, India declared their second innings for 303/9. Sri Lanka had to chase 447 runs to win, and they were bowled out for 208 runs, and India won that game by 238 runs. Iyer scored 92 and 67 runs in two innings and won the Man of the Match award.
