The first hundred in the Men’s T20 World Cup were registered by none other than “Universe Boss.” In the opening game of the 2007 inaugural T20 World Cup, playing for the West Indies against South Africa, Chris Gayle scored a magnificent hundred. Gayle smashed 117 runs from just 57 balls with seven fours and 10 big sixes. Most number of hundreds in a T20 World Cup record also belongs to Chris Gayle. Gayle is the only batter who scored two hundred in the tournament. In 2016, Gayle smacked an unbeaten 100 from just 48 balls in the second inning against England and chased down the total for the West Indies. Suresh Raina became the first Indian batter to score a hundred in the T20 World Cup. Raina in the 2010 T20 World Cup, playing against South Africa, made 101 runs in 60 balls. Raina smashed nine fours and five sixes in that inning.
